Lacks a lot of control.. better solutions out there. Make sure you explore all options before picking.
The software works seamlessly. I set up portfolios in no time, including historical purchases that went back 8 years. Very intuitive! I had a minor problem (my issue not their’s as it turned out) and the folks from Meg Software replied within minutes. Fantastic service and a great app.
This app gets the job done until another better app comes along. When adding a new symbol to your portfolio, this app continues to default to the current symbol lookup and 100 shares and the current price. It would be more helpful if those fields were blank. Also command to minimize application does not exist: command+m does nothing.
Love the app just would like a little more functionality. It would be nice if you could click on the stocks in your portfilio and have the chart come up instead of having to type it into the Lookup area. It would also be nice to have more varity of chart choices. Love that I can get current news but again only if you type in a symbol in the lookup not from click current portfolio stocks.
Can not print a portfolio. Will not handle cash like FDRXX Will not delete a strock in a portfolio. Will not handle 50+ stocks and MFs in a port A good start but will not replace MSN Money yet
mPortfolio is simple and easy to figure out how to use. Once you have your portfolios and stocks added, this app lets you quickly and conveniently see how your money is doing. I added a watch list group of stocks and then another portfolio to track a 401K rollover basket of stocks that Ive owned for a while. It handled adding in everything including a traded mutual fund that I have. It took a little while to put in old dividends one at a time, but once they were added, it is working just fine. Easy to see if any new news has been posted about one of the companies you are watching or have in your portfolio. You can even just use it for quick stock lookups of companies that you dont own or regularly watch. I keep it running all day.
I bought this app and just tried it. I love it. This a fit my need. The only thing that I want to suggest to the developer is an additional feature for adding a kind of "sticky note" at the stock that i watch as a riminder. It will great also, if you add information "AFTER HOUR" price. I give 5 stars because I believe the developer will give attention with this request. Thank you.
The application is good and fits my needs but some of my stocks are not listed and the company will not ansewer e-mails or give support.
After buying 3 Apps, I finally got an App I can work with. Only downside I have found is you can not "delete a stock" without selling it, which messes up your gains & losses. Miles; Charlotte, NC
It took me a while to figure out how to enter stock history, so I used the Contact Us link to send an email. I had a response within a couple of hours with helpful information. I have a follow-up question - and got a detailed response in just a few hours - I rate their Support as excellent!
This application is a WASTE of $25.00. Do not buy it…go to Yahoo Finance and it is all there for FREE…Really disappointed. I suppose I was expecting a bit more, but the DOW doesnt even refresh…it is stuck on November 22nd or something. Reall a waste of money.
The app looks great and would met my needs except for one deal killer: no ability to import nor export transactions.
I would really like to be able to delete transactions from my watchlists and portfolios. The option to do so is in the menu however it is not possible to simply control click and remove a transaction completely. Also I cannot execute a search by hitting enter instead I must click a button (not a big deal but it is time consuming after hitting enter every time I want to execute a search only to realize i must click the button).
The app loaded fine but crashed repeated on two different Macs. Online, I see that I am not the only one with the issue. Really poorly done.
Good program to keep track of my portfolio. It does a good job, but can be cumbersome at times. I used “Money” for years and enjoyed the interface (UI), but the stock buy/sell screens are not as easy (or as intuitive) as I would like. I would also like to see a cash account, so that I could get the net totals for a specific portfolio.
This is almost a 5 star app. I love it and its well worth the price. Finally after searching for a very long time an app comes along with a great user interface that’s easy to use. However I had to give this 4 stars because it’s missing a few very important features in my opinion: 1) There is no cloud sync between devices, or at least an export/import feature. I have two iMac’s, a macbook pro and macbook air. Having to enter every stock in every portfolio on all of my devices took me hours. The iTicker app (a definite 5 star app) from the same company offers cloud support so i’m not sure why this app doens’t. It would also be nice to see a companion iOS app. 2) There is no way to add cash to a portfolio to truly see the total value of a portfolio. You can only see the open or closed positions. 3) I wish it had online integration with all major brokerages. Other apps and websites offer this (sigfig, mint, etc) and it would be nice to not have to manually enter all transaction information. Aside from these issues, this app is perfect and I am extremely happy to see someone finally get it right.
Needs to to separate each stock by currencies, EURO, GBP, YEN, samples. theres a bug with all .L (UK stocks) because they are priced in pence so the number will be larger and I bypass it by dividing the number of shares by 10 which must be fixed immediatly. Also, if they could cover japanese markets and offer deeper information it would be great. I like this program for its simplicity for my personal portfolio.
Just what I was looking for, easy to use and a straightforward display. Provides just the right amount of functionality for my needs.
This is a great start for this application - It has to be developed to allow for cash. I would also like to be able to take the summary line at the bottom of portfolio window and have it display up top where quotes are displayed. I really like being able to account for dividends and overall this app does an acceptable job of tracking the value of a portfolio
